Macomb County Joining Our Unit
Steps For Joining our unit. Prior to joining we hold a parent orientation meeting where parents and kids can come in see a presentation, ask questions, meet the staff and observe the unit in action. At this time if you're interested in joining you will be given a paperwork package to fill out and bring back the next week. Upon joining the Young Marine unit, the youth undergo a 26 hour (2hrs/wk for 13 wks) orientation program affectionately called "Boot Camp" . This boot camp is offered twice a year. Once in the spring usually starting in late February or March. Once in the fall usually starting in September.
The recruit uniform consists of a disposable whit T-shirt (their name will be written on it in marker), black belt, blue jeans and comfortable shoes. The T-shirt is to be tucked in at all times.
At the conclusion of the Boot Camp the recruit will put on the Young Marines uniform and take part in a graduation ceremony that will officially designate them a Young Marine. Since we meet on an active military base all adult drivers must be placed on the base access list or you will be denied entry by base security. Fill in the form on the right and press submit at least 2 weeks prior to the orientation meeting and we will get you on the list.
